2011-12-31 00:29:00 | So much for chief tax collector Pauline Dibble and her 4Km/hour speed tolerance keeping the road toll down.. | paulw (1826) | |
2011-12-31 02:32:00 | Meant to post in the chat forum. Sorry. I was being about as attentive as some of the drivers I've seen on the roads recently. | legod (4626) | |

2011-12-31 23:05:00 | Meant to post in the chat forum. Sorry. I was being about as attentive as some of the drivers I've seen on the roads recently. Eggzackly legod !, inattentive behaviour part and parcel of all generations, but mostly the younger generation as there is more of them and they have not been as well toilet trained perhaps !. When in that age bracket, I got into a bit of strife on the old Manawatu Bridge and slid into the gravel in the lead-up to the Palmy side and it was just as well I was a body builder, because I managed to lift the rear end of the 1952 Ford Prefect back up onto the road. CAUSE: late at night returning to the Hawkes Bay after an athletic meeting in Wanganui (English spelling in those days). Should have stayed the night with the rest of the team, but had cricket the next day. Car had the rear end panel beated out and also made 99 not out!. Lurking. Ps. no grog involved either, just a long daayy. lurks.

2012-01-01 00:04:00 | i think the holiday road toll was very low last year. So you are bound to get ups and downs. And you only need a few multiple fatality crashes to blow any figures miles out. I also think the police were a bit slack in not enforcing the new anti-mobile phone calling legislation. they have let it get out of hand. And I get really annoyed when they want to fine you fro gong a few k's over the limit. Get tough on the real speedsters and the onrs who over take on yellow lines etc etc

2012-01-01 00:08:00 | Keep hammering the filth speeders, I support the 4kph margin because its lead to the lowest road toll since 1952. In stupid europe they have holocaust denier laws well we need the same here for people going on about the police being revenue gathers in relation to speeding.

You will have a very hard job convincing me otherwise. After rail cars stopped going through Woodville they were always sitting with a speed camera on the bypass stretch past the old railway station. I could understand it before but after there has been very little traffic and virtually no pedestrians. It could easily be a 70km stretch instead of 50km. The northern end of Woodville is 70km and there is far more action there. |
