1274092 2012-05-08 08:44:00 Does it have the acer logo on it in green and it says something like "acer empowering technology"? stratex5 (16685)
1274093 2012-05-08 09:42:00 Nope, it's not Acer, it has MSI on the case from memory.

1274094 2012-05-08 09:50:00 Ohh well then is there a long shaded bar? stratex5 (16685)
1274095 2012-05-08 11:26:00 Yeah, there is a shaded bar which shows when the star is clicked, it has icons on it which could be settings. Trouble is the desktop icons are so huge they obscure most of it. With any luck the owner's cataract op this week will be successful. Then I might get somewhere. As I said in a previous post, I will try and get screenshot when I go there next.

He just wants me to help him with some things like emails and Google etc. Its near impossible at the mo, because he is nearly blind. Very frustrating!

1274096 2012-05-08 20:58:00 When you go try right clicking both, the star and the bar and check what the menu says. There should be a item called exit or something.

Please post screenshots of the blue star then the shaded area then the right click tabs for both.

:thanks

1274098 2012-05-08 21:45:00 your second link doesnt work.... GameJunkie (72)
1274099 2012-05-08 22:36:00 stratex5, no, I dont think its a virus. There are no words or message and it is not on all screens from what I remember. The guy had an expired norton av and I removed that and put MSSE on for him. I thought it may have been, but MSSE did not pick it up as one. Am wondering if it belongs to norton and didn't get removed. I am sure I'll find out next week if I go there. (His son has also been trying to help him.)

1274101 2012-05-09 08:37:00 I'm guessing it's something rocketdock.com/ like rocket dock or a modified version of dock thing. Acer and HP seem to be using them as OEM's to put their crap on and look nice. Doesn't add much. No one I know uses them. I just ask, "you use this?" usually a no so it's an uninstall.
