And if you have a mortgage on your place? You can't just go.........If it wasn't bad enough to be written off, but is on the to be fixed list. I think it's crap - look at that shop owner - excess of $2500, now his excess is $60,000. Lot's of total ripoffs if you ask me, that's just crazy. |

| 1251889 | 2012-01-04 21:48:00 | tvnz.co.nz "Researchers also discovered a larger fault running out to sea off Kaiapoi that some believe could produce a quake of about magnitude 7.0."Yep, know about that one out there. But saying there is a fault that could produce a quake of about 7.0 and someone predicting a 7.5are two different things and I hope no one is dumb enough to say a 7.5 has been predicted just because GNS have said there is a fault out there capable of producing a quake around 7.0!! There is a small concern that the way the quakes are migrating off the coast, it could add more stress tot he already stressed Pegasus fault (off Kaiapoi) which might rupture and because of the length of it (the fault), may produce a quake around 7.0. A quake around 7.0 produces around 480 kilotons of energy and is house wrecking, a quake of 7.5 produces about 2.7 megatons, that is a house leveling, tsunami causing killing machine and due to the length of the fault it doesnt support that happening (not saying it cant happen, just with what they know about it already). So in a nutshell, there hasnt been any 7.5 quake predicated for Chch. |
