1273953 2012-05-06 22:46:00 When I right-click on a folder (not a file) the usual menu does not come up.
Instead a message "Explorer has stopped working correctly, and will be shut down"
My Win 7 disk does not give the option to repair, only install or custom install.
I am logged in as administrator, but cannot find anything in account control or
explorer settings that relate.
Any suggestions?

1273954 2012-05-06 22:50:00 Usually if computer stops or crashes, you've installed something (that adds itself to the right mouse context menu). Thats either buggy or its not compatible. Codecs / buggy codecs can cause it to stop or crash Speedy Gonzales (78)
1273955 2012-05-07 00:56:00 This only affects Win Explorer. Right click works normally in all other programmes that use it. Computer does not crash. Only thing recently done is a new video card (ATIm to Nvidia), and this started occurring a couple days after this. DaveMac (2886)
1273956 2012-05-07 01:00:00 Yup computer is win explorer in Win7. Thats what I mean not the whole computer (when it crashes). So, what folder makes it stop? Whats it called? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1273957 2012-05-07 01:07:00 Any Folder that I right click on. I've also tried restoring to an earlier time, but this no effect on the problem. DaveMac (2886)
1273958 2012-05-07 01:13:00 I would try some of the options here (www.sevenforums.com) Speedy Gonzales (78)
1273959 2012-05-07 01:44:00 Used ShellExView as suggested by your re-direction, disabled a shell extension put in by NVidia, and now the world has started turning again !!
Thanks Speedy
