| 13555 | 2001-06-02 11:27:00 | My gateway 450 III has always been a disaster with graphics and games. Crimson Skies?Forget -it total graphics confusion and locking up. DiabloII? - well after locking and rebooting each time the game is loaded it does 'go' in a jerky fashion. Fallout Tactics -very jerky and slow. All drivers updated. Latest directX etc all on board. defragged scanned often.Someone said the DVD drive is too slow and I should swap for a decent CD drive??Any ideas?? OK OK it is not the fastest machine in the worls but should do these games much much better eh.Cheers | Guest (0) | ||

You havnt include what sort of graphcs card you have so all i can say is get something like a geforce or tnt2 from nvidia. anything 32bit should be great...i ran quake3 fine on a pIII 450 with a 16bit matrox milenium g400. I doubt its to do with a cd rom drive. The next obvious thing is ram. id say 64meg is minimal..specially for games, 128 is desirable, and 256 kiks arse. hope this helps :) |
