13619 2001-06-04 10:29:00 I have purchased the Studio VCD ver 2.0 capture card and have installed it I don't know how many times but it completely freezes my computer even while trying to set up the options.
I'm running Windows ME and have a 700mhz celeron with 256meg memory.
Has anyone had the same problem?

13620 2001-06-05 04:49:00 Hi Shaun,
does it ship with specific ME drivers or just 9x ones? Does the computer detect it when you boot after plugging in the card? If it hangs just after the new hardware found box pops up, try going away and making a coffee, as I've had a similar problem where the system seemed to hang every time (caps lock light not toggling), but it only needed to be left for 10 minutes and it came back to life. Test the card in someone else system to see that the card can work. See if you can get new drivers for your motherboad (eg VIA 4in1s). See if you can get a bios update for your MB. See if there are newer drivers on the manufacturers site.
If you can get the drivers installed but the software crashes the machine then try adjusting your PCI config in the bios, and update your video card drivers too. Also try upgrading directx in case the software uses direct x apis to display the video.
good luck
