13592 2001-06-04 00:23:00 I have two home pcs networked together via a crossover cable, and therefore have file and printer sharing enabled. Both pcs can access the internet via the 'good' pc's modem, and AnalogX's proxy.

But everything I read on internet security tells me file & printer sharing should be disabled. Is there a simple way to resolve this?

13593 2001-06-04 00:56:00 Hi,
In the properties of you DUN, Server Types->Allowed network protocols, make sure only TCP/IP is ticked.

Network properties-> Configuration-> Dial-up Adapter properties-> Bindings and again make sure the only one ticked is TCP/IP.

A helpfull site you can have a look at is www.grc.com

Hope thats some help,

Ken.
