| 13639 | 2001-06-05 06:55:00 | I have been trying to do a Live Update for Norton SystemWorks 2001.04 and I keep getting the following error. Live Update cannot read the list of new updates. Live Update could not compress the list of updates. The update list somehow got corrupted. You need to run Live Update again to get a new update list. Well I have run live update several times and it just does not work. I have downloded the current live update version and no joy. I am running Windows 98se. |

| 13641 | 2001-06-05 10:22:00 | I had the same problem and, found the firewall to be the culprit. Once the firewall was disabled, the LiveUpdate was successfull. John Seager. |

| 13642 | 2001-06-05 11:31:00 | I don't have a zone alarm that I am aware of. If I do you might tell me where I would find it. What I have done is download the latest update directly from the Symantec website which has succesfully it appears updated my protection. I am still interested if you can tell me about the zone alarm. David |

| 13643 | 2001-06-05 12:27:00 | yep fire wall was stopping it (i had to do it direct due to the servers firewall).thanks zonealarm can be downloaded from www.zonelabs.com if still having problems with update not working (without fire wall) i suggest you go to symantec support page as there are a couple of apps that interfere with the decompressing of the update list. http://www.symantec.com.au/ |
