| 13758 | 2001-06-07 00:53:00 | I'm about to purchase a highish-end AMD system (1.4 GHz,256 SD RAM, 60 Gb HD) and I want to know which Windows version is the best for me: win98/Me/2000/NT I'll primarily be manipulating images through Photoshop as well as playing (quite) a few games. I've heard about alot of driver issues re:compatability with Me & 2000. Can anyone help me with the pros and cons? |

| 13759 | 2001-06-07 04:10:00 | I have a newish duron 800 and I use photoshop 6 and play several newish games. I find win98 to be the best for me as it still allows access to a straight dos mode for old skool games. Win98 is fine for this as long as you have a decent graphics card. Win ME is probably not good at all as i have heard of problems with photoshop and also new games. (if you get anything higher than win95, you will need photoshop 6 though as 5.5 doesn't work) hope this helps, Jimbob |

| 13760 | 2001-06-07 12:38:00 | ahh, im runninga 900athlon 128 of ram with win me. Photoshop 5 works a treat, its perfect. All my games work (excluding the old skool games) but there is nothing wrong with photoshop 5. I suggest win 2000, but you will have to investigate your compatability. If the shop sets it up for you, you will be sweet. But i strongly suggest Me over 98...but it wont make a difference except for speed and crashes..go ME. Dont use NT if you are a gamer. Really try 2000 1st, then ME. (but make sure 200 will work with everything) | Guest (0) | ||
