| 13754 | 2001-06-06 21:09:00 | (1) Can someone tell me please how to increase the number of auto registry backups from eg 5-10 for use with scanreg/restore. (2) Are these backups as complete/reliable as making your own backups ie exporting the registry. |

| 13755 | 2001-06-07 02:58:00 | You can set the number of backup copies of the Registry in the file scanreg.ini which is in your Windows folder, c:\windows\scanreg.ini Open scanreg.ini with a text editor like Notepad, look for the line MaxBackupCopies=5, and change it to what you want. These backups are perfectly good, since it's done for you there is probably less chance of error than if you export, then import registry entries manually. Cheers |
