| 13940 | 2001-06-10 10:51:00 | Hi When I first had Internet Explorer, and I was at a web site, if you clicked on to 'reply with Email' this would open up a email with Outlook express, (and email address already filled in) But after reinstalling 'Star Office 5.2' from NZ PC world CDrom, now star office opens and that is not so bad, it comes up with error message. HOW CAN I RESTORE IT? I found out if you go to mu computer => view => folder options => file type (tab) then go down the list for 'URL- mail to protocol' then edit => edit (again) it should have 'c:\program files\outlook express\msimn.exe' that's if you use outlook express for your mail but could someone please tell me what the (DDE options are) |

I went off line for a few minutes, (for a cup of tea) when I came back, I revisited this F1 site, and saw my posting, then I opened my outlook express to check my Email, it promptly disconnected me from the phone line. so I had a look at, to see if there was a option to stop that (disconnection); tools => options => general (tab) and saw 'Default message program', 'This application is the default mail handler' after clicking the 'make default' button it now works all right. you do not need any 'DDE' (what ever that is) but 'C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE' has now changed to 'C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE' /mailurl:%1 From Eric R Again |
