One of the toolbars on my IE5 has vanished, it's the one with the back/foreward arrows,Stop,History,Refresh etc buttons.Instead a new toolbar has appeared from a website called 'eBOOM.com' (don't touch it) it is impossible to get rid of.It also put some blurb into my email window whenever I open it to write in it.Tried to clean up the registry with a 'reg cleaner' no luck. I really need some help here, - can someone assist please, - I would appreciate it. Thanks |

Third party utilities can be OK but not always perfect. Sounds like you might have to tackle the registry yourself. Go to Start\Run\Regedit - then click Edit\Find, and write 'eboom' or whatever else you think could identify the program. If you sure that the results found aren't Windows reg keys then it should be OK to delete them. Do this until all the offending junk is eliminated. If your computer starts playing up after your attempts then restart in MSDos mode & type scanreg\restore & pick eg yesterdays date to restore from.
As for your disappeared IE toolbar, unless you have already tried this, on your IE Menu at the top, click View\Toolbars\Standard Buttons, and hopefull it should now reappear. I hope this is of some use, if your problems persist don't hesitate to repost for someone else to tackle. |
