| 13975 | 2001-06-11 08:37:00 | I've installed ME only to find any audio or video format plays choppy (like poor streaming). Updates, Tweaks etc don't help. This also affects .cda and winamp yet '98 with wmp7 is fine. No glorious hardware just sb16,64Msd,k6-233,8.4g hdd. etc. Too slow? ideas? thanks. |

But there are other varables that can affect proformace of your computer so give these ideas a go. The most common causes of performance issues in winme is lack of hard disk space, broken or cross-linked files, virtual memory usage by software and hardware drivers, incompatible software, amount of random access memory (RAM) that is available for the software on your computer, physical hardware or hardware driver problems. Winme needs to have about 480MB to 645MB free disk space to saftly operate in. If you are running low 'Disk Cleanup' will be in order found in 'Local Disk Properties'. You may need to remove unnecessary files or old programs you no longer use to create enough free disk space. Have you run ScanDisk and Defrag recently? Another option could be related to hardware not set up optimually for Winme. make sure you have updated drivers. |
