14173 2001-06-15 11:46:00 Try the link below

download.cnet.com

it has 4 free typing programs. You should be able to read reviews and other stuff on these and decide for yourself.

14174 2001-06-18 05:38:00 I tested several freeware typing tutors for use in a learning environment and eventually settled on Analytical Eye's Typing Tutor V1.6.0. I didn't like the excerise text that came with the program but it was easy to replace it with text more appropriate to my students needs.
Another program worth considering is KP Typing Tutor.
Both programs are small and run on the most basic machines.
Hope this helps.

This is quite extensive from real beginners through to advances, even nums pad and character lessons for the adventurous. Times tests, gradings, etc.

You can get a demo tutorial free to try, bits from some lessons, not all.
WPM, graphs on progress etc.
