14150 2001-06-14 21:40:00 Hi John Wright here again!
I just want to say that I really appreciate you guys.I'm amazed how quickly you reply to my queries & how you persevere with a problem.
Thank you, especially Terry Porrit, you have been so helpful.
Now to my problem.
I last asked you about a missing DLL for a program 'Bearshare' to work & as a result I downloaded the Win 95 update for DUN & winsock2 - Bearshare worked OK, but I'm not that impressed with it & have since removed it & installed Winmx.com - which is so good - very similar to Napster, but more versatile.
Since doing all of this I've been plagued by ' illegal operations' shutting me down from things I didn't even know were on my computer -hope our health service doesn't get this sick!!!
Anyway, one is Rundll32 - what on earth is this?
But, as well, my phone dialler no longer works & I use it frequently to use PC Anywhere to contact my work computer - I've tried it in all applications with no success - sorry this so long winded.
Hope you can help - Thank you.

14151 2001-06-15 20:09:00 Hello again John, this rundll32.exe thingy is used by Windows to open applications defined in DLL's, it can also be used manually as a command line utility.

Have a look at this site, it collects together the MS Knowledge Base references to rundll32 errors. You may find that Q138835 will help, as it refers to the error occuring after using Add/Remove Programs.
