14145 2001-06-14 11:17:00 How do I determine how much RAM I am able to put into my computer?

14146 2001-06-14 12:33:00 Depends on your motherboard type. What kind of motherboard do you have?

But usually a Pentium III motherboard has 3 Dimm slots and each slot should be able to take at least 128mb. Therefore 3x128 = 384mb of rams.

I saw the three slots and thought that, about he 128mb sticks., but also considered what if they were 256mb sticks. That gives a possible 768mb. Do you think that would still work?

14148 2001-06-14 14:47:00 check in your motherbaord manaul or on website. the max ram size is manafacture dependent as well as chipset depandent. there is normally a max module size as well as a max totall ram.
however i think (but i havnt tested it yet) you can go over the limit by use regeisted ram.
