14329 2001-06-18 23:34:00 I wish to turn off the content advisor password function and reset the content back to its original default settings.
I know the password but want to completely do away with this function, as I am the only one using this computer is not necessary. It is also interfering with my Norton Personal Firewall program. Its prevents me from setting this program and to what I want as when I go to options in this program it says this is only available to the supervisor.
This problem occurs even when the content advisor is disabled.
I have try checking on the Microsoft site on the online knowledge base to find out but have not had any success only references to the support site which seems that you have to pay for this information technical support.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Regards
Terry

14330 2001-06-21 11:12:00 ...try this, Terry:

(i) Open your registry, find the key below. Single click on the key to highlight it, press the DELETE key, or alternatively select Delete from the Edit menu.

(ii) Close Internet Explorer, re-open it, and the Content Advisor feature should be disabled.

Settings:
Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\
Ratings]

This method also works for users who have forgotten their Internet Explorer content advisor password and want to change the ratings settings or revert the settings to default.
