14483 2001-06-22 05:51:00 i am looking to up grade the processor in my Socket 5 MB. Does anone know where I can get a voltage adapter so I can use an AMD K6/2 400Mhz processor. I think Socket 5 MB's run at 3 - 3.5 Volts, whereas the K6/2 400 runs at 2 Volts, is this correct? Any other suggestions for a cheap upgrade would be welcome (its a Dell Optiplex GL5133) Guest (0)
14484 2001-06-22 11:18:00 voltage for the k6-2 is 2.2v and 2v for the k6-2+.

if i remember right there was a converter but its proberly cheaper to buy a super socket seven motherboard.
the problem with a converter is the motherboard is going to be a big bottle neck slowing the whole system down.
