| 14385 | 2001-06-20 23:52:00 | I turned on the DMA for the hard drive. Now when I turn on my computer it freezes at the window 95 splash screen. A warm reboot takes me to the startup menu and goes into safe mode. (but it is very slow to load.) Into device manager to turn the DMA off and get the following when trying to save. 'Error writing to registry. Could not update one or more settings. Try freeing up some disk space (224 meg free) or re-start your computer.' Now the only way I can get my computer to go is in the safe mode. Or click the disable all 32 bit protected mode drivers, under trouble shooting. With yhis option my CD, A:, and Zip drives do not work. How can I get my computer back to normal ? |
