| 14610 | 2001-06-26 08:28:00 | Hi, I want to reinstall some of the 'window components' that are missing in my add/remove programs box. For unknown reason, I can't find the following entries: (1)Accesories and Utilities (2)Certificate Services Because of this, I can't defrag my hard disk. Because Im also the Administrator, if I had implemented a restriction, can some1 please direct me in the right direction... |

(Except in Germany where they don't include it due to executive software's links to scientology) I'm not surprised you can't find 'Accessories and Utilities' as there is no such component. look for an adminpack.msi file on a W2K server or advanced server CD, installing this will add many mmc snap-ins. It might be possible to disable the defragger using a policy, but it's not the sort of thing you can do by accident. |

To add to your comment in regards to the existence of 'Accessories and Utilites' features, I wasn't sure if this option was available either, until I reading the 'How to add components and programs to your Windows 2000-based computer' article. If this is the case, are we both in the same boat? Ill check my mmc snapn settings again.... |
