| 14569 | 2001-06-25 07:30:00 | I'm trying to defragment my C drive, and after a few minutes I get an error message that tells me I should run scandisk, and that the defragmenter cannot continue due to an error (something like '000025Defrag'). When I start the ScanDisk, it seems that it restarts itself all of the time, even if the systray is off and there are no programs running in the background. I also tried to run it in 'Safe Mode', and still the same. It did, however, find its way through the end once, with a lot of luck and many hours, and still it did not report any errors. If anyone has any idea on how I could resolve this, please reply. My drive is seriously fragmented after months of attempts to run that defragmenter. |

I recently installed RegCleaner v4.1 & from the Startup List found 4 programmes that were running but not showing on the 'Cntrl+Alt+Del' window. Assume you have altered your screensaver to 60 mins.If you are badly defragmented suggested start programme then go & get your evening meal as it can be up to hour to complete the run.Frank | Guest (0) | ||
| 14572 | 2001-06-25 13:48:00 | try this- find a file called applog and delete it. this file is used for defrag. sometimes it gets corrupt. simple delete it and windows will remake it. also works with nortons speed disk. | Guest (0) | ||
