14526 2001-06-24 02:51:00 I have two problems with Outlook.
The first is with Outlook 98. Since changing my ISP when I open the program the dialogue box asks for 'Post Office'. Any ideas what should go in here?

The second is with Outlook Express as included with IE 5.5. When receiving mail attachments don't arrive.
Any clues?

14527 2001-06-30 07:45:00 hi Graeme,
postoffices are usually associated with microsoft mail, not internet mail. Depending on whether you have Outlook running in 'internet email mode' or 'corporate mode' you will have different menus.

First check in the Tools menu in Outlook:

If you have a 'Services' entry in the tools menu then click it. You should have the Internet Email service installed. If you don't, press 'Add' and configure it according to the information provided from your ISP. If it is already installed, check it's configuration by double clicking it . If you see the 'Microsoft Mail' service, delete it.

If you don't have a 'services' entry then click the 'Accounts' entry. Click the Mail tab, and check there is an account in there. If not, then add one, or if there is check it is configured according to the information from your ISP.

You will need to know your pop3 server, SMTP server, and your login name and password (this may be different from your main login if you use Xtra)
