14485 2001-06-22 09:54:00 My C.D. Drive has been running perfectly since I bought my computer from the PC Company, but now every time I insert a CD the blue screen of death comes up.
'An Exception OE has occured at 0028:C18348D3 in VxD scsi1hlp (03) + 00000583. This was called from 0028LC1834858 in VxD scsi1hlp (03) + 00000508. It may be possible to continue normally'.
The computer then locks.
I use my CD all the time and cannot use it at the moment.
If it is of any help it is a Samsung 4th generation 8X Speed DVD drive.
If there is any way I can fix this please tell me 'cause I really need it. !!!!
Cheers

14486 2001-06-22 11:31:00 Hi I had a similar problem although im not sure if your error messages are exactly the same but heres some you can try..go into bios on startup(hit del) then go into standard setup and see if your cd-rom is setup as primary slave, if it is change those slave settings to none so the cd-rom is not on it, then save and boot, this may or may not work, if it does'nt you can always go and change it back.
