| 14592 | 2001-06-25 11:29:00 | Hi there we have a brand new Hewlett Packard 8835 PC and its running Windows ME that eratic operating system. My question is we can get the PC to go onto standby mode but when we go to wake it up again it refuses to wake up on the monitior all we get is the little white sqaure blinking in the top left hand corner. everything else works. This is most frustrating. I have tried using the standby key on the HP Key Board and also have used the standby settings in power setting via the Control any help will be appreciated as this is driving us up the wall !!!! Neither of these solutins seen to work ! Thanks to all James |

On mine I can put the PC to 'sleep' but it will not awaken without a reboot. I wonder if these buttons on keyboards marketed under Microsoft brand work properly. Look forward to other comments on this |

| 14594 | 2001-06-26 07:13:00 | Hi I had similar problems with my HP Pavilion, I would get a black screen usually after waking up the puter from standby mode, and at times the screen would be just white, no cursor visible. I also had problems in changing resolution when playing games (had to go through multiple changes and restarts to get it back to 800 x 600 with true colour after finishing the game). I went to the HP web site and looked for updated drivers. I downloaded a bios update and monitor driver update. This has fixed the standby and game resolution issues, and could be worth looking into? Hope this helps, Matt |
