| 1275071 | 2012-05-13 04:22:00 | Whenever I'm viewing lengthy Facebook or Youtube web pages, the browser app starts to eat up a big chunk of my CPU's memory and in some cases gets above 800MB. Granted, I only have 4GB, but it seems to happen specifically with pages like Facebook and Youtube where you can view more content on the page simply by continuing to scroll down further. It also happens to a variety of browser apps including IE9, Safari etc. Here's the log from HijackThis: Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.4 Scan saved at 10:58:16 PM, on 5/12/12 Platform: Windows 7 SP1 (WinNT 6.00.3505) MSIE: Internet Explorer v9.00 (9.00.8112.16421) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services\iCloudServices.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services\ubd.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services\BookmarkDAV_client.exe C:\Users\Marco & Amanda\AppData\Roaming\Dropbox\bin\Dropbox.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\SABnzbd\SABnzbd.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Renesas Electronics\USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver\Application\nusb3mon.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\APSDaemon.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\DELL\Dell Laser MFP 1815\LocalSM\jbDetect.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\DELL\Dell Laser MFP 1815\PSU\Scan2Pc.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Java\Java Update\jusched.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\distnoted.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\1Password\Agile1pAgent.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\acrotray.exe C:\Users\Marco & Amanda\AppData\Roaming\Juniper Networks\Setup Client\JuniperSetupClient.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\AppleMobileDeviceHelper.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\SyncServer.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Gmail Notifier\gnotify.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Safari\Safari.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Safari\Apple Application Support\WebKit2WebProcess.exe D:\Downloads\HijackThis.exe R1 - | 1275072 | 2012-05-13 22:37:00 | It's probably just caching the video for smooth playback, unless your system is not performing I wouldn't worry about it. Using memory isn't really a leak unless it keep increasing and doesn't release it when you close the program. Also windows 7 tends to reserve or use most of the free memory and then release it as needed so task manager doesn't give you a very good Idea of actual memory usage. |

| 1275073 | 2012-05-13 23:14:00 | I have noticed these days that all browsers seem to waste a lot of RAM, even when you close down the tabs after viewing. (But not exiting the browser) Not sure if you can call that a leak or not but it's annoying. You would think it would unload data for each tab after closing, but it seems not. Something to do with being able to quickly re-open the tab. I think the solution would be to keep the data in memory for 30-60 seconds after tab close and then unload if the tab isn't reopened, but for some reason none of them seem to do that. |

| 1275075 | 2012-05-14 03:09:00 | Remove the profile as well as the browser. Then reinstall it again. I had the same issue with FF, didn't matter if I then switched to Chrome. Why? Who knows, but killing the FF profile worked. |
