2012-01-08 19:31:00 | If the rumour mill is right and the iPad2S and Galaxy Tab 11.6 have a much higher resolution, the prime will drop in value fast. Fixed that for you Cato :) (there will be no iPad3....)

2012-01-09 19:39:00 | I think Cicero might be right, again.......... Nigel Gore, director of product management at Acer Australia, said in a phone interview that Acer's aim was to create a laptop that had the battery life and lightweight design of a tablet but maintained a solid built-in keyboard. "As soon as it comes to creating a document, or anything that requires content creation, the tablet is not the ultimate form factor for this and that's where the keyboard comes into it," he said. "[Consumers] will tire of it because it's not convenient to type on their LCD directly on a tablet and to carry an external keyboard is just adding to your burden." Gore said the main impact of tablets on the PC market was being felt in the lower end of the market but even then the impact was so far quite small. Acer 's global chairman JT Wang recently predicted the end of tablet fever, arguing the hype around tablets was already starting to cool Read more: www.smh.com.au

2012-01-09 20:02:00 | Yes, but look who you are quoting: Acer. When did Acer ever make anything that was reliable? As the biggest maker of computers in the world, they must be doing something right!

2012-01-09 20:23:00 | Perhaps they have the best returns policy in the world. Or perhaps people who like buying their cheap **** have short-term memory loss... | johcar (6283) | |
2012-01-09 20:29:00 | I can only say, there are a number of people on here who have Acers and are very happy, what more would you like? | Cicero (40) | |
2012-01-09 20:30:00 | The computer clowns need to make something: thin as usb ports to ram in a memory stick battery life of at least a day touch screen but have a fold away or beamed key board for punching out a dok. Rugidized Fast bootup and fast to process info When they make it I will buy

2012-01-09 20:59:00 | As the biggest maker of computers in the world, they must be doing something right! uh...since when are they the largest manufacturer of computers? That aside, His points are slightly retarded, new markets can open up and grow without having to kill off an existing line, and new tools open up new ways of working, Trying to dismiss it because it doesn't fit the old ways just demonstrates his limited vision, not the limitation of the platform. Why are people in denial?, At some stage peoples use of computers will go right past putting letters on a virtual page, and other means of interaction will become the norm, even if laptops still sell in large numbers and dominate the area of "document creation", the scope and use of a light weight, long life, touch screen computer is endless.

2012-01-09 21:03:00 | I was under the impression that Dell was the largest PC maker, IBM (Lenovo) second, and HP / Compaq 3rd? Same thing happened when Netbooks first came out a few years back, people get all scared of it destroying the laptop market, but at the end of the day like Metla says, they can happily co-exist. It's all good for the consumer at the end of the day :)

2012-01-09 21:14:00 | The computer clowns need to make something: thin as usb ports to ram in a memory stick battery life of at least a day touch screen but have a fold away or beamed key board for punching out a dok. Rugidized Fast bootup and fast to process info When they make it I will buy 1) Everything is thin... 2) You can buy a USB adaptor for most tablets... Transformer dock also has USB ports.: 3) This is still a few years, but organic batteries are coming and WILL change the world. 3) Just get a bluetooth keyboard or the Transformer? 4) They are out them, they are hideous and cost an arm and a leg... 5) Never turn it off? Reality is as long as the apps are well written this shouldn't be an issue. Personally: www.harveynorman.co.nz If only it was slightly cheaper... :(
