1252590 2012-01-08 01:53:00 A good mate of mine owns the complete series as well, each season are in some fancy red plastic case, cant remember how many discs are in each one but quite a few. All I own is the lastest ST movie on Blu-ray which is great, which reminds me, isnt the second movie due out this year?
When they first came out in the red case they were $75 a series at The Warehouse and about $150 a series from other places. I have series 7 in a red case and the other series in a clear plastic case which I paid $35 for each.

1252593 2012-01-08 07:26:00 The big question is would it be released in NZ? I checked Amazon and Paramount put a region code A on it.

Why would they put a region code on a 20+ years TV series?

1252594 2012-01-08 20:05:00 Pity they picked one of the crappier 'generations' of ST to do.

It's goota be either The Original Series, or Voyager for me.

Most likely a misprint on Amazons part as Paramount does not do regional BD coding..

1252596 2012-01-29 03:54:00 I see that the "sampler ' disk is now available for preorder from Amazon. Just ordered from Amazon UK NZ$18 landed including postage .. Amazon US is quite allot dearer when postage added on.

1252597 2012-01-29 04:30:00 Anyway I don't think American Blu-Ray disks will work in NZ, wrong zone. I don't think Blu-Ray players are multizone like DVD players. I'm pretty sure mine isn't. I just noticed it is region free.

BTW just had a 10 minute power outrage after I typed this and before I could save it and when I came back it was still here.

1252598 2012-01-29 05:56:00 Star trek is Paramount who do Blu-ray region free along with Warners.. These two were the main backers of HD-DVD which was region free as a part of the spec so they kept it that way but the other studios like Disney and Fox are real Blu-ray supporters and backed it because of region coding.. As the MPAA has told us that regional coding prevents piracy so it must be true. paulw (1826)
