2012-05-17 08:54:00 | Thanks for the link' Speedy Gonzales. One of the suggested solutions' worked. For the benefit of interested, here it is: Create a batch file with the following: @echo off powercfg -h off rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState 0,1,0 powercfg -h on Then create the desktop shortcut and use the Browse to point to the batch file you created. Works perfectly. Then, add the bat file to a scheduled task.

2012-05-18 17:40:00 | Thanks wallarro. Looks very promising and very flexible. Still, since all I want is a single preset, I'll stay with the scheduled bat file. | chermesh (4253) | |
2012-05-19 15:23:00 | As someone else asked - why not just put to sleep when you get up and walk away? Or even set power option to 1 hour? Leaving until midnight will just use more power, un-necessarily, if you're not in attendance? | Fishb8 (484) | |
2012-05-19 18:17:00 | I'm not as planned as I wished I were. Therefore, whenever I use my pc at night, it may be my last peep, but it may not. A default option is, therefore, useful. | chermesh (4253) | |
2012-05-20 06:18:00 | Unless I've missed a post, I don't think anyone has posted this link (support.microsoft.com). If you make that a scheduled task, it should do the trick, assuming the KB article is OK. | Tony (4941) | |
2012-05-20 20:02:00 | Hi Tony, Thanks. The kb you refer me to instructs how to switch to hibernate, not sleep. In addition, it doesn't show how to configure sleep mode on a scheduled base. One way or another, I've already found a solution to my inquiry (see above). Thanks anyhow. | chermesh (4253) | |
2012-05-20 21:24:00 | Sorry about that. When I read it I thought it was talking about sleep. Glad you're sorted. | Tony (4941) | |
