Where do I find the list of programs that come up on boot. I have a screen full of Icons I want to remove as well.Have been into Add & Remove & done a cleanout. Plus Spybot etc.

1275211 2012-05-14 07:14:00 As Speedy said, run Ccleaner > Tools > Startup. This shows the list
of entries in the startup folder. Delete or Disable those not wanted.

Speedy what needs to be disabled amongst this lot.

Is this why the pc takes a long time to boot.

Thats scheduled tasks (they run / do whatever at a preset time), not the start up tab. I would disable the flash, the apple / 1st and 2nd entries. Get rid of regcure pro / uninstall it. I would disable smart defrag's scheduled task too. I dont think you need the 3rd or 4th task either. They look like MS fix its??

I think if you disable / delete the Google entries, it'll show an error , if / when you go to update it in chrome? Or it wont update automatically or something?

Whats driver fetch?? Does it update drivers or something??

1275216 2012-05-14 23:39:00 You mentioned a screen full of icons, desktop Icons are generally just shortcuts and can be deleted safely any time. The software will still be accessible through the start menu unless you have uninstalled it. I'll leave the startup questions for the others. dugimodo (138)
