1274737 2012-05-12 06:32:00 Decided to do a re-install of Toshiba laptop - Vista Business - went ok - backed up files. Decided to make lappy very program light as no need of many previous programs.
However, when I look C/Program files there are still a heap of the old stuff. went to Control Panel to remove but they don't show up. Opened Revo and not thereeither.
How do I removed them?

1274739 2012-05-12 06:47:00 Yes, I thought of that - does it create registry issues? Fishb8 (484)
1274740 2012-05-12 07:26:00 Check all the folders to see if they are empty, if they are not, cut them to another drive and wait a week and if no problems delete them or keep a backup. stratex5 (16685)
1274741 2012-05-12 08:23:00 OMG  dont simply delete folders unless you want a mess on ya hands. Chances are something will turn pear shaped real fast

1274743 2012-05-12 20:41:00 Most software has it's own file cleanup program to get remnants after un-installing ,some recommend installing software and un-installing to catch everything (Revo) Lawrence (2987)
1274744 2012-05-12 23:42:00 I may be on the wrong path here ... but if you reinstalled the OS did it not format the HD before re-installing ??? Just wondering because you say there is a lot of "old stuff" still on the drive which wouldn't be there if it had been formatted.

Maybe you should try doing a fresh install and format the HD first.

I think there's also a piece of software that's available which takes all the crapware (unwanted programmes) that Toshiba and others "bundle" with the OS discs/recovery partition ... unfortunately I can't remember the name of it ... some else may be able to help with that.

Good luck and let us know how you get on ...
