Basically, In Sweeden it has now been recognised as a religious community. The Church of Kopimism is a group of about 3000 members of which some meet once a week to share files of music, films and other content they consider holy and regard copying as a sacrament.

The church's philosophy opposes copyrights in all forms and encourages piracy of all types of media, including music, movies, TV shows, and software.

Being recognized by the state of Sweden is a large step for all of Kopimi. Hopefully, this is one step toward the day when we can live out our faith without fear of persecution," said spiritual leader Isak Gerson.

Not to mention what some others do...

"Oh, so you were raped were you? Well it was your own fault. We're now going to throw rocks at you until you die"

Anyway, the Church of Kopimism is pretty funny but I don't need to belong to it if I wanted to pirate anything...

Whats new? If you had read the article you would have found out.
Yes, you could argue their church promotes theft and they use their religon to justify theft but I have no idea what christianity and murder has to do with anything relating to the original post.

I think he's saying that a religion using itself as an excuse to do something 'bad' is not a new thing, whether it be piracy or murder.

Christians have killed many people in the name of their God, as have many other religions, and some still do.
