| 14899 | 2001-07-08 07:59:00 | To find out what programs are running. 1)Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, a box will pop up with the programs that are running in the background. 2)Select one (See note below) then click on end task. 3)Try running defrag again, if it still doesn't work select another one then end task again. 4)Repeat steps 1-3 until defrag works. VERY IMPORTANT: Leave both EXPLORER & SYSTRAY alone as they are needed by windows. 5)Another thing that can interrupt defrag is a 'Screensaver', so it's better to turn that off while defragging.
