| 14827 | 2001-07-02 07:06:00 | This has happened on several occasions on shutting down the computer.It occurs in 0028:COO31C7A in VxD called from0028:COO3O1F9 I run win 98 se on a celleron 400 gateway machine.I have to restart and run scandisk and have defraged the hard drive.I followed some instuctions from the gateway tech wizard.Re sound faults and video acceleration settings,no joy getting to bug me now,help. |

They can occur after installing hardware that may have glitchy drivers, or drivers written for Windows 95 when you are running Win98. Scanners, video cards and printers are said to be the main culprits. If you have recently installed any new hardware check at the manufactures' site for the latest drivers. It is also worth having a look at this web-page: users.aol.com Scroll down to WIN98 VXD BUG for a vxd fix that may or may not work in your case, but it will not do any harm either. I had a similar vxd problem with a video capture card that wasnt supported in Win98. The issue was dodged by changing the card. |
