| 14907 | 2001-07-03 08:22:00 | Hi I have a Pentium S 75Mhz compouter along with 800MB hard disk and 8MB ram. But however, my computer has crashed and lost windows. Now when I run scan disk it says it has a lot od bad cluster. I don't think this caused the problem. The biggest problem of all is that when we try and install win 95 again, it installs to about some% then stops and starts all over again. This continue for a few time then when just be 'stuffed' and so stops it. What is the problem, does the IDE cable need replacing? Or what? Once a while ago it said 'Hard disk fail (80)'. Anyone with clues to this 'mystery' will be thanked a million. Thanks, |

If there are a lot of bad clusters suddenly appearing on the drive this suggests that your drive may have had a head crash or something similar. And considering you can't even install Windows I would say your hard drive's life has come to an end. |
