| 15196 | 2001-07-08 04:15:00 | When I am running a page and go to anotherpage or site IE locks up and only way out is to alt ctr del. IE in Repair mode says it is beyond repair and to reinstall but still locking up. Have dropped back to IE5 but still no luck Win98 2nd Edition Compaq 7400 Fault only for last 4 days Keep getting Error Report to send to Microsoft which I send. Thankyou for any help, am an oldie!!! |

| 15197 | 2001-07-13 12:37:00 | hi Ralph, I've had nothing but trouble from ie5.5, similar problems to you with system freezing (it takes out windows explorer too) I can only suggest you give the beta IE6 a go, as it's the only newer version out there. You could scrap IE all together and go with something like nutscrape (www.netscape.com) as a last ditch effort to get things going.... |
