| 15184 | 2001-07-08 01:30:00 | My son recently installed MSN Gaming Zone software then when he went to play Midtown Madness 2 on the zone with a friend everything OK the abruptly the Blue Screen of Death came up and we had to restart the machine to get it to work. It booted up ok with the icons and everything else then the Blue Screen of Death came again saying: Terminating thread due to a stack overflow problem. A VxD, possibly recently installed, has consumed too much stack space. Increase the settings of 'MinSPs' in SYSTEM.ini or remove recently installed VxD's. There are currently 6 SP'd allocated. Press Any Key to Continue. So we pressed space bar then this message came up: There are no spear stack pages. It may be necessary to increase the settings on 'MinSPs' in SYSTEM.ini to prevent further stack faults. There are currently 7 SP's allocated. We pressed space again and the desktop appeared but looking in bad shape so we restarted the PC again. My son then uninstalled the Gaming Zone software. We have had a lot of the Blue Screen of Death about three each day if more. I think we need to do a clean install but first we need a CD Writer. The errors come up mostly playing games or going into Photoshop. I think it's something to do with or Nvidia RIVA TNT2 M64 graphics card and drivers we have tried the oldest drivers and the newest ones but the error still comes up. I know that the Windows registry is a mess! Could you please explain what 'stack' error was about and the best way about this problem to go? Thank you for your time. Louis Hunter We are running Windows 98se with Pentium III with 128mb ram and 500mhz. |
