15079 2001-07-05 22:01:00 As far as I know Quake 3 requires an opengl compatible video card to run, id be guessing the card/onboard video in your dell isn't but check the documentation to be sure. Quake 3 has some pretty steep qraphical requirements and alot of name brand pcs dont come with the needed hardware out of the box. Guest (0)
15080 2001-07-06 00:55:00 intel810 is opengl compatable so at the very least it should start up. sounds like driver issues. have a look for an updated driver. if that fails try glsetup on tne q3 disk.

happy fragging

15081 2001-07-06 02:39:00 Remove the QIII CD from the tray, drop, then jump up and down on it !!!! then insert Tribes 2 cd and expirence a real FPS game with true team work and strategy Guest (0)
15082 2001-07-07 01:13:00 team games are not for every-one. they are usually for fat smelly people.

The open GL problem may simply be drivers, or the desktop may be running in 256 colours with the default colour depth set to 'use desktop settings'

15083 2001-07-08 06:36:00 Try www.glsetup.com,
it will install the latest gl drivers for your card.

Although ive tried quake 3 on a celeron 766 with an i810 and it was slower than my P2-400.
