| 15212 | 2001-07-08 09:34:00 | hi i have a toshiba satellite pro 4300 series laptop problem is my modem shows up in device manager it shows up with a yellow ! shows a code 10 error if i delete it and then reinstall it and the toshiba drivers it then works perfectly until i reboot and then the same problem comes back second question the hard drive is formatted NTFS how do i reinstall windows 2000 i have tried using a win 98 recovery floppy but says canot format c: and have tried to use f disk to create a new primary partition but says there is no dos partion i assume this problem is easy to fix please help |

| 15213 | 2001-07-09 22:20:00 | hi Phil, nice simple one, -there isn't a driver installed for your modem. Check on the toshiba site for a device driver. also try the www.toshiba.com.au site, as it sometimes has better support for local models due to it being the australian site. The you will need to use the 'Delete Non-DOS partition' option in FDISK to get rid of the NTFS partition before you can create a dos partition. Don't bother if you intend to run Windows 2000 again, as you can manage your partitions within the Windows 2000 setup program, it will allow you to delete and create partitions without messing round with reboots like in FDISK. good luck! have fun! |
