| 15418 | 2001-07-12 08:53:00 | Why is that when I type a date at the top of a letter and then press enter the date format is changed ie after typing in 12 July 2001 the following appears 12 July 2001-07-12 What is the trick to stopping this additional text appearing? |

If you type 2001, it thinks this is a date, and will complete the date if you press Enter, the tab key, or F3. If you keep typing (hit space bar, for instance) it doesn't complete it. But to turn it off, go to Autotext on the Insert menu, select Autotext again, and un-tick 'Show autocomplete tip for Autotext and dates', from which you can also see the other things you might want Word to autoinsert some other time. | Guest (0) | ||
