15518 2001-07-14 12:14:00 I have Nortons Antivirus on my computer (it came with it) it says that it is version 4.9 can I get this updated??? The automatic update doesn't work.

Should I have a disk/CD for Nortons Antivirus since the manufacturer of my computer (PC company) put it there???

15520 2001-07-14 12:51:00 I don't know what you mean by didn't work, but I had the same problem with McAfee Antivirus. The upgrade from v3 to 4 killed the installed version and the company hadn't given me an install disk, and had recently gone out of business.
Any way, goto the company to try and get the disk which they should have given you.

15521 2001-07-15 09:42:00 Welcome to the joys of bundled software, most likely you have an OEM version of nortons antivirus. The software for it is most probably contained within your recovery CD(s), but you will not have a full version disc.
Also are you trying to update the programme or the virus definitions??
