15930 2001-07-21 22:13:00 Startup options are stored in MSDOS.SYS, located in the root directory of the C: drive.

To modify these options, open a new MS-DOS Prompt window and change to C:>. Type ATTRIB MSDOS.SYS -H -S to remove the hidden and system attributes. Next type EDIT MSDOS.SYS to open the file for editing. Under [OPTIONS] there should be a line that reads AUTOSCAN=1, if it is missing or =0 then add the line. Save the file and exit. Type ATTRIB MSDOS.SYS +H +S to restore the attributes.
