I have a Mitsumi CD-ROM FX320S in my Gateway 6300 PC. It works fine until I try to use a CD-R or RW that has been burnt in anywhere else, whereupon the 'E is not accessible, device is not ready' message comes up. The first two burnt-in discs I tried worked fine but now none will irrespective of source. 'Professional' discs give no problem. |

I would say its just a case of your CD-ROM dosnt like burnt disk's, it does happen.
Can you get your hands on another CD-ROM of a different brand and try it to see if it reads CD-R and CD-RW? |

The CDs that won't work in my CD-ROM work fine in other people's equipment and I'm sure that if it were practicable to put their CD-ROMs in my PC it would all be fine also. As I said, the first two occasions I tried burnt ins they were OK but now, none are. Still the basic question is why should a CD-ROM reject burnt-ins only? |
