| 16054 | 2001-07-24 05:05:00 | I have a problem where my computer (dual c: win98, d: win2k) will not boot up. I get a message 'NTLDR is missing please insert disk....' Now I found the problem to be a win2k prob where it paces this file as well as Bootdisk.ini and NTDETECT.com into the root directory (C:). Apparently this must have been deleted when I was running a system check. However, my problem is that I cannot replace this ntldr file (which is the proposed solution) because I cannot access my C: drive. I get 'Invalid Media Type...Abort, Retry...' messages and so cannot replace it where needed. So far I have tried sys c: fdisk /mbr to no avail. the C drive is still there (fdisk can 'see' it) but it does not know the format of the partition. Apart from formatting (which I REALLY dont want to do) is tere anything else I can do? |
