| 1253879 | 2012-01-15 03:40:00 | That judge needs to be removed immediately and fired in disgrace, Nothing else is acceptable. That aside, 2 month old child beaten to death in Wanganui today. Hinekawa Topia, aged 2 months, one of triplets, was driven to Wanganui Hospital by her parents just before 1pm on Thursday as she was not breathing. A post-mortem examination had revealed she suffered a head injury considered non-accidental, police said today. Hinekawa's twin sisters were in hospital for assessment as a precaution and, along with a 5-year-old boy, had been placed in the interim custody of Child Youth and Family. I wonder if they were dressed smartly.... |

Michael Laws doesn't pull any punches, and manages to address the big picture: Cases-made-it-a-week-for-the-ferals (www.stuff.co.nz) In a nutshell. :angry That is the elephant in the room that the enablers deny as racism. I've seen it in practice many times over. Maori need better role models, I've said it before, I'll say it again, Their leaders, all over the country need to stand up, accept that the problem is real and to condemn those that allow it to happen. Ask Turia how often she has a friendly chat to known gang members, or how many of them are entrenched in her community/family. |

Ask Turia how often she has a friendly chat to known gang members, or how many of them are entrenched in her community/family. So your argument has now been watered down to Maori leaders being responsible, bit of a back track there. Leaders of the whole community need to consider how to address issues of abuse, including Maori leaders. And just for the record - nobody has claimed that discussing the high representation of Maori in crime statistics is racist, that bit you just made that up. As previously stated - it is not some big secret that Maori are over represented in crime stats - certainly isn't an elephant in the room as you suggest. My contention in fact was that people are personally responsible for their crimes - you can't blame a race of people for the crimes of an individual. |

Even if your claims about your position are lies I am glad you don't currently hold such a position. So at least there is that positive. |
