| 1254226 | 2012-01-15 01:06:00 | Someone bought a lemon tree. The little ones - mayur I think they are called. They have bought 2 other lemon tree in the past but they died. So need advice on how to maintain them :D Is the just the same as rich compost with manure .... the gardengrow.co.nz site does not list lemon trees. |

I never use rich compost on my tree, its just in the lousy pumice soil of Taupo. Had a bumper crop of lemons last Spring! LL |

I had one, ignored it completely and it produced more lemons than I could ever use even though it was only a small tree. Plants that need maintenance don't survive on my property. |

It's tucked in the front corner of the house, in the sun out of the wind, but it was here before we were so no tips on how to get them started sorry. |

We feed ours compost and it's had some citrus fertiliser since we moved here -poor thing was neglected and starving and looking very sad. Water with long soaks when dry, but don't waterlog it. I mulch around it now - keep it away from the trunk. Don't prune too much. |
