Almost unbelievably, in that far away land the offender would not be allowed to have his drivel read out, and he wouldn't even get compliments from the judiciary on his appearance. Thank goodness we have such an enlightened attitude (www.nzherald.co.nz) here. Yeah, Right. There are times one could wonder if the phrase "Ship of Fools" was invented just to cover a system that can permit this style of behaviour by officials. |
