| 16226 | 2001-07-29 10:13:00 | I have been given an old monitor which I would like to use but it only has a very small picture on it even though its a 14'. its a Mitac 1420-02U If I try to change to 800x600 it dies. How can I get a full screen picture? Thanks |

| 16227 | 2001-07-29 21:00:00 | It sounds as though you may have been given a tired old VGA monitor. VGA cannot display 800x600, only 640x480. Check that your refresh rate is not more than 60Hz. If the picture is small because the video amplifiers/power supply B+ have deteriorated it is sometimes possible to tweak the preset controls on the mainboard, but it is not recommended, there is 25kilovolts inside there!! It just isnt economic to have old monitors repaired. |
