16365 2001-08-02 05:59:00 I've had a couple of unwanted Active X events happen with Internet Explorer 5 of late and they're a bit of a concern. In one instance in particular, i had a dialler applet installed on my PC without my knowledge or approval, a situation I was inclined to believe impossible with ZoneAlarm installed.

Is there any way I can disable Active X in IE? It's the only possibility I can think of that would enable a rogue site to place a dialler on my system.

Any help would be appreciated.

16367 2001-08-02 08:56:00 There are heaps of security flaws and 'features' like this in explorer, and if you turn off activeX some sites probably wont work because the webmasters are ignorant.
The only real option will be to get a decent browser.
