| 16334 | 2001-07-31 10:26:00 | Is it possible to use rj45 connection and cable installed in a wall as usb cable. What I want to do is attach a usb plug to each end of the rj45 cable and use that to connect from the computer on one side of an office to a printer on the othe side. Don |

Twisted. I'm not sure if this will affect things. As long as it has enough wires <grin> Make sure that your TP cable isn't too long either. For example, a parallel port cable can only be 5m or less, otherwise the capacitance in the cable tends to damage hardware, check up on that. I, personally, would give it a try on older hardware <LOL> Seamus |

If there are enough wires an the twisted pair network cable, and they are connected correctly then it would probably work. However I don't know if there would be any errors due to the cable being unshielded and twisted. Let me know if you have any success with this. Mark Dawson PSL Technology New Plymouth |
