16292 2001-07-30 23:05:00 When I did a virus check scan. I got the following message:
'C:\windows\Temporary Internet File, Warning:Hidden extension. Still infected.'
But the test results say 'no viruses found', so what does it mean, how can I get rid of it, & how can I find out if files have hidden extensions in them in future please.
Thanks

16293 2001-07-31 01:35:00 right click my computer, click explore. go to 'veiw', then 'folder options', then the 'veiw' tab. on 'hidden files' click show all files and remove the tick from 'hide file extentions for known file types'.

that will reveal most but not all file types.

16294 2001-07-31 02:08:00 Thanks tweak'e. I checked what you told me to do, but there was no tick in 'Hide file extensions' & 'show all files' was ticked. So I don't know why I should have had a hidden file anyway.
Thanks
